The main approach to the shopping centre runs through the adjoining green area. Most visitors simply cross it on the way in.

The brief was to turn this area into a self-contained piece of infrastructure: open 365 days a year, built to take the weather and the footfall, and able to change the script of the visit itself. Visitors now enter the shopping centre after a first contact with the environment.

A self-contained zone with its own time

From the edge of the car park you can see the illuminated pieces and the silhouettes of the street furniture - the ground reads as an environment of its own. The route through the park then opens up: pergolas, canopies and loungers run along the path.

Visitors slow their pace, choose a direction and sit down even before entering the shopping centre. First the experience of the place; then the purchase.

A children's area at the heart of the route

The children's area is the anchor point for families. While the children are occupied, the parents stay on - usually longer than they had planned.

The area was developed together with a specialist contractor: our concept and artistic language, their mechanics and certification. Timber volumes, a slide and an area for free play, with no rigid route.

Street furniture for the whole year

Four types of street furniture, all developed in-house. The canopies and pergolas in thermally treated wood offer shelter and intermediate stops. The loungers, with a wave profile shaped to the body, are made from metal and thermally treated wood with integrated lighting. The benches and waiting areas spread out so no single point gets crowded.

The materials are thermally treated wood, architectural concrete, metal and warm-spectrum LED. As evening falls, the warm lighting keeps visitors outside even after they leave the shopping centre.

Impact

Contact with the environment happens before visitors enter the shopping centre

The park works as a self-contained zone, with its own visit time. The children's area holds families on site, so visitors reach the shopping centre after a first contact with the environment. As evening falls, the warm lighting keeps them outside even after they leave. The pieces are permanent and the park runs all year round.

13,500 m² working for the centre all year round

In the green area around the entrance we set out street furniture and lighting that hold families before and after the visit. This is how the park of a flagship centre works all year round, with no seasonal pauses.
