Sometimes a seasonal environment is dismantled and not reused the following season - the investment works only once, when it could remain an asset of the centre for far longer.

The client came to us with a brief covering 200 m of gallery and the central atrium. A hanging layer of hearts in different sizes and colours had to hold a continuous visual environment, with no breaks, and survive into the following season. Reducing the capex was a condition from the outset.

A mould instead of repeated costs

The large-format hearts, two metres tall, are moulded in fibreglass from a dedicated mould. The mould is made once, and from then on all 20 pieces come off in series, with the same geometry and the same surface quality.

The red flock finish and the hard-wearing multi-coat paint are sized for a high-footfall gallery and for several seasons of use in a row.

Fabricación

A continuous layer, with no breaks

In the gallery, 1,500 hanging garlands in four sizes and eight tones carry 16,500 smaller hearts of varying diameters. Together they compose a continuous visual environment along the full length of the gallery and the atrium.

The layout is modular: a single team installs the entire span without losing time on the joints.

Designed for the following season

Mobile trolleys were developed for the large-format pieces. They allow the hearts to be stored safely between seasons and moved around inside the centre without lifting equipment.

After the season, the environment is dismantled, cleaned and placed on the trolleys. The following February, the same environment returns to the gallery.

Impact

The mould pays for itself from the second season

The investment in the fabrication mould pays for itself from the second season: from then on, the same environment returns to the gallery with no further production costs. The seasonal capex falls, and the seasonal environment becomes a recurring asset of the centre.

Does the seasonal capex get written off to zero every year?

We design a mould of recurring forms - fabrication pays for itself from the second season, and the seasonal environment becomes an asset that lasts five seasons or more.
